Dr. Susan Lundgren NMD
“A man’s health can be judged by which he takes two at a time – pills or stairs.” ~Joan Welsh
Hi, I am Dr. Lundgren, a licensed naturopathic doctor, but not your typical doctor. I spend quality time with each patient to listen and understand your concerns, get to know you and your desired outcomes. We all experienced filling out pages of paper work for a doctor’s appointment, waiting indefinitely to see the doctor for only a few minutes where we repeat all the information on those forms! After all that we may not even get much more than a prescription that you never wanted or one that addresses symptoms not the cause! Whether you come to my office or see me online, I respect your time plus deal with issues at a root cause level, rather than symptom management.
Would you like to get to the root of why you are not reaching your maximum potential? Why you don’t wake up refreshed and happy each day? Why you cannot lose that extra weight? Why you have digestive problems? You get the idea. I work with you to develop individualized plans at physical, mental and spiritual levels to create optimum health.
I treat a wide spectrum of illness and chronic diseases using a variety of modalities including: botanical medicine, hydrotherapy, AK/ physical medicine, and homeopathy. In addition to treating patients privately, I teach workshops, do public speaking engagements, and volunteer with organizations such as Hip Veggies to promote health and wellness.
After graduating from University of North Carolina, I debated the different medical school options. My experience working at large hospitals inspired me to improve our current health care system. Therefore, I choose to attend Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, a four-year naturopathic medical school in Arizona where I earned my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine. Now, I am working with patients to get real results by focusing on the patient as a whole person.
Start a revolution by being an active participant in your health!
Health & Joy,
Dr. Susan Lundgren
The Reason I Became A Helping Professional
After working in large hospitals and living abroad, I observed shortcomings in our medical system. Insurance companies and lawyers were dictating how doctors practice. Doctors lost the ability to spend time with patients, choose the labs and treatments for patients unless the patient had a certain set of criteria met. It was sad that health care provider no longer could be detectives, scientist, and healers that worked as a team with the patient to find the best treatment. It was becoming a big business in disease management, not health care. My passion for science, medicine and art created a desire to be the detective, scientist, artist and revolutionary doctor. By choosing to be a naturopath, I can be the doctor I dreamed of being.
My mission comes from the simple fact that I respect every individual and their path in life. Everyone deserves care that exemplifies this respect in all aspects. I wish to revolutionize health care to empower both patients and healthcare providers- for a true way to reach optimum health physically, mentally, and spiritually.
